Some students will return to campus at Harvard and Princeton for the fall semester, according to the CNN website.
Here is Harvard’s plan:
- Forty percent of undergrads will return for the fall semester. This includes all first-year students as well as those who need to be on campus “to progress academically.”
- All classes will be online, including for students living on campus.
- Everyone returning to campus will be required to be tested for COVID-19. There will be regular testing throughout the semester.
- There will be dedicated quarantine space in dorms. Social distancing and wearing a face covering when inside, except in a dorm or apartment, will be required.
- If the 40% capacity remains for the spring semester, first-year students will return home and priority will be given to seniors to return to campus. The school expects to make a final decision regarding this in December.
Princeton’s plan is as follows:
- First-year students and juniors will be allowed to return for the fall semester, with sophomores and seniors returning in the spring.
- A 10% discount on tuition is being offered for the school year.
- Most classes will be online.
- Everyone returning to campus will be required to be tested for COVID-19. There will be regular testing throughout the semester.
- Returning undergrads will be required to sign a “social contract” outlining their commitment to follow health and safety protocols specified by the school.
