It’s November. Have You Submitted Your Law School Application?

Are you on a law school application schedule that you set for yourself over the summer? Maybe that timeline had you submitting your application by Thanksgiving. Are you on target?

As we approach Thanksgiving and the subsequent holidays, now is a good time to evaluate where you are with your law school application and where you need to be. If you have submitted your application, congratulations and good luck! But for many candidates, the need to retake the LSAT or other life events might have derailed their well-thought-out schedule.

While schedules are helpful, remember that admissions committees will look forward to evaluating your application when you are ready to submit your strongest application. Rolling application cycles can be confusing for applicants. Think of the schedule you created as a guideline that you can adjust as needed. If you need more time to create your strongest application, take that time.

The idea of applying “the earlier the better” can create anxiety, and multiple considerations go into deciding . Applications submitted by January 1, or even in mid-January, are still timely applications. So, if you needed to retake the LSAT, had a few rough months at work, or struggled with a challenging semester schedule, it might be a good idea to reevaluate your schedule and adjust it to meet your current needs.

As you adjust your timeline, be sure you are positioning yourself to create the strongest possible narrative for the admissions committee, rather than just trying to submit the earliest application. This means continuing to work on each of the application components to build your best submission.

If you need some extra assistance adjusting the schedule for your law school application, consider scheduling a free consultation with one of our law school consultants to assess areas that might benefit from expert advice or assistance.

There is still time to both enjoy the holidays and submit your strongest application to law school!
