Harvard & Princeton Reveal Plans to Open Campuses This Fall

Some students will return to campus at Harvard and Princeton for the fall semester, according to the CNN website.

Here is Harvard’s plan:

  • Forty percent of undergrads will return for the fall semester. This includes all first-year students as well as those who need to be on campus “to progress academically.”

  • All classes will be online, including for students living on campus.

  • Everyone returning to campus will be required to be tested for COVID-19. There will be regular testing throughout the semester.

  • There will be dedicated quarantine space in dorms. Social distancing and wearing a face covering when inside, except in a dorm or apartment, will be required.

  • If the 40% capacity remains for the spring semester, first-year students will return home and priority will be given to seniors to return to campus. The school expects to make a final decision regarding this in December.

Princeton’s plan is as follows:

  • First-year students and juniors will be allowed to return for the fall semester, with sophomores and seniors returning in the spring.

  • A 10% discount on tuition is being offered for the school year.

  • Most classes will be online.

  • Everyone returning to campus will be required to be tested for COVID-19. There will be regular testing throughout the semester.

  • Returning undergrads will be required to sign a “social contract” outlining their commitment to follow health and safety protocols specified by the school.
