Case Western Reserve University recently announced the launch of a joint DMD-MD program provided by its medical and dental schools. The home base for this five-year program will be the School of Dental Medicine. The program’s goal:
" The goal of this program is to create the dental health care practitioner of the future, a practitioner with a new skill set that crosses the fields of dentistry and primary care medicine."
Case Western is already reviewing applications for the first participants in this new program, who will matriculate in July 2007.
Not surprisingly the application procedure for this program is a hybrid of the dental and medical school admissions procedures.
