Wharton has had a busy week.
Today University of Pennsylvania President Amy Gutmann and Provost Ron Daniels announced that as of August 1 Dr. Thomas S. Robertson, executive faculty director of the Institute for Developing Nations at Emory University and former dean of Emory’s Goizueta Business School will become Wharton’s next dean. Dr. Robertson taught at Wharton from 1971-1994 and served as chair of the Marketing Department.
Wharton also chose this week to renew its relationship with the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad, India for five more years. The ISB, founded in 2001, is a relatively new school, but enjoys the support and assistance of over 50 corporations and two top business schools, Wharton and Kellogg. The relationship gives Wharton increased exposure to Asian business, assists Wharton in developing course materials with an Asian focus, and encourages collaborative research between ISB and Wharton faculty. ISB benefits from Wharton faculty involvement in teaching, curriculum design, and materials development.
