The Washington Square News reports that application volume at NYU Stern this year has headed north, as it has at most top business schools. "Applications are trending upward for the top schools,” [Stern Associate Director of Communications Lisette] Zarnowski said. “For Stern’s full-time MBA program, applications for Fall 2006 are up in the double-digits.”
This is comparable to the increases reported by many top MBA programs so far this year.
NYU’s School of Medicine had the opposite experience. In the same article, assistant dean of admissions Joanne McGrath said the number of applications to the school is down to 7,572 from 8,027 last year. The medical school accepts 160 students per year, regardless of the number of applicants, McGrath said.
