The Chronicle of Higher Education, citing a National Science Foundation study, reports that the number of women going into the sciences and engineering continues to increase. A few highlights:
- Women received more than a third of the Ph.D.’s awarded in agriculture and atmospheric science .
- Women have earned more science and engineering bachelor’s degrees than men since 2000.
- A little under a third of female students graduating in 2004 received bachelor’s degrees in science or engineering.
