The New Physician’s article, "Is Medical School About Passing — or Winning?" reviews different grading systems used at medical school: the traditional ABCDF approach, pass-fail, and a few in between. The article spends most of its time comparing the relative merits of pass-fail to more traditional systems, particularly in the first two years of medical school.
Although the conclusion is a definite "It depends," you would be wise to read the article so that you can determine if grading system should be a factor in choosing the schools you want to apply to and ultimately attend.
