Accepted: First, can you tell us a little about yourself – where are you from, where did you go to school and when did you graduate; and what prior degrees do you hold?
mbadilemma: I hail from a small town (Hisar) in India and did my schooling. I graduated with majors in Psychology and Mathematics in 2004, and immediately after that I got an MBA from a premier Indian business school (graduated in 2006).
Accepted: When do you plan on applying to business school? Which schools will you apply to?
Accepted: Why do you want to go to business school? What are some of the factors motivating you?
mbadilemma: I want to change the course of my career to Corporate Finance/Micro Finance and then maybe go the entrepreneurship way. The diversity, networking options and world class faculty at top b-schools are the major motivating factors for me. I truly believe that one can learn maximum from the environment and peers and I will get these amazing opportunities at the b-schools I mentioned.
Accepted: Does cost play a factor in where you’re applying? Do you plan on applying for financial aid or scholarships?
mbadilemma: Yes, cost does play an important factor. As I already have an MBA from India, I really need to be aware of the ROI of another MBA. I will be applying for scholarships.
Accepted: Do you have topics in mind for your MBA application essays?
mbadilemma: Have not thought about the essays in detail yet but have vague ideas.
Accepted: Are you applying only to full-time programs? Or are you also considering attending b-school part-time?
mbadilemma: I am considering only full time programs.
Accepted: Why did you choose to blog about the MBA application experience?
mbadilemma: Blogging not only makes me more disciplined but also gives me an option to share my experiences. Knowledge shared is knowledge doubled. 🙂
