Second round MBA admissions interviews are in full swing. Wharton is sending out the last of its Round 2 interview invitations tomorrow February 15. By 5:00 PM on Feb. 15, all round 2 Wharton applicants will either have an interview invitation or a denial without interview.
If you are one of the lucky ones still under consideration after tomorrow’s witching hour at Wharton (or in the running at other top MBA programs), take advantage of the MBA Admissions Interview Database. It’s been growing steadily and has thousands of entries. And thanks to the improvements we made over the summer, you will find even better feedback from this year’s reports. They present more questions and insight. Plus the database is now easier to use.
For example feedback we received today from a recent Stanford interview presents a lot of questions the MBA applicant was posed. He provides much insight and feedback beyond the questions, but I want to focus on the questions from this interview report:
What was the most difficult question?: I was given an imaginary business scenario and asked to prioritize.
What was the most interesting question?: Who was my favorite UFC Fighter.
Other questions?
- When did you first realize you need an MBA?
- Why MBA?
- Why Stanford?
- Tell me about a bad leader?
- Tell me about a time you failed?
- What do you do outside of work?
- How do you prioritize?
This is the kind of information that you need in order to prepare. Check out the MBA Admissions Interview Feedback Database before you interview, and afterwards please take a minute to share your experience by filling out the short questionnaire. Finally, if you like to take pictures, please participate in the fun at the Beautiful B-school Photo Contest. Although photos are coming in and our list of honorable mentions is growing, your chances of winning one of the top 3 (Amazon gift certificate) prizes are still outstanding
