We hosted four great chats in December and the transcripts are now online:
IF you are interested in these topics, the transcripts are truly valuable, but here are a just few appetizers:
Linda Abraham (Dec 5, 2005 10:01:39 AM)
Fred, Payton, and Natasja, the school web site touts the London Advantage. What does that mean to you as a student at London Business School?
FredDuarteLBS (Dec 5, 2005 10:03:13 AM)
Coming from Brazil, London is completely different. There are people here from all parts of the world, different culture and entertainment. You will need some entertainment during your MBA time and London is definitely a must come.
PaytonDobbsLBS (Dec 5, 2005 10:03:39 AM)
To me, the London Advantage means accessibility to the top multinational firms in the world. It also means living in a cosmopolitan environment with diverse cultures from all over the world.
NatasjaGiezenLBS (Dec 5, 2005 10:03:40 AM)
For me, the London advantage means that all the big companies in the world are right on your doorstep, the world’s best museums are on your doorstep, and all of Europe is in my backyard!
JenniferBloom (Dec 14, 2005 10:19:55 AM)
Caroline, what if you see an applicant who has potential but there simply isn’t room for him this year – perhaps he even made it to the waitlist. Even those applicants are discouraged from reapplying?
CarolineDiarteEdwardsINSEAD (Dec 14, 2005 10:22:32 AM)
Jennifer – we normally discourage rejected candidates from reapplying, but we are happy to receive reapplications from waitlisted applicants.
From the UCLA Anderson MBA admissions transcript:
Brett (Dec 21, 2005 10:20:35 AM)
Wes: How optional is the optional essay? I would like to include it, but I don’t want the admissions staff to have to read yet another essay if they really don’t want to.
weshawkUCLA (Dec 21, 2005 10:23:03 AM)
Hi Brett, Great question. The optional essay is truly optional. Please use your best judgment. In the past people have used that space to explain gaps in employment, other extraordinary circumstances, or to highlight something that didn’t come up in the overall app. But again, use your best judgment when adding an optional essay. Cheers, Wes
