Magoosh GMAT: Clear, Straightforward GMAT Practice

Magoosh GMAT DashboardMagoosh launched its new GMAT product last week – an online tutorial website that walks MBA applicants through the complicated GMAT in a non-complicated way.

We had the pleasure of playing around with the site a bit, and are excited to share our experience with you.

When you sign into the site, you’re brought to the “Dashboard” that clearly details your study progress. This is in the “Results Summary” section of the page. Here you’ll see the number of practice questions you’ve answered, the stats on your results, plus a comparison of your average pace compared to that of other users. We found this last feature extremely helpful.

On the left side of the screen, you’ll find the tutorial menu with a section devoted to each of the Math, Verbal, and Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA) sections of the exam. The sidebar presents “Suggested Lessons” with an option to click on “See all lessons” for the extended menu, which is really long – a very impressive collection of topics.

Individual lessons are taught via brief videos, complete with instruction, diagrams, and clear, step-by-step instructions on how to understand the principle in the lesson, and then how to apply it to GMAT questions that cover that topic.

It is also easy to choose your own settings for a practice session, so that it focuses on only those topics that you specify, or, if you don’t specify, on the entire selection of material. (You make these settings after you click on “Practice” in the top navigation bar.)

If you are looking for a comprehensive, straightforward, and thoroughly organized GMAT tutor, then Magoosh may be just what you’re looking for.
