Harvard Law to Launch Deferred Admission Program

Check out Law School Admissions 101Harvard Law School’s new Junior Deferral Pilot will launch next year (in 2014) with the Harvard College class of 2015. These juniors will be able to apply to the law school for a deferred admission period of two years. After two years of accumulating work experience, they’ll then enter Harvard Law. (The class of 2015 will enter law school in the fall of 2017.)

This deferral program is similar to Harvard Business School’s 2+2 Program. Clearly the latter is a success.

Pursuing rich work and life experiences and building wide networks is encouraged (actually, required) over the two-year deferral period. There is an option to expand this period.

Applicants to the program must submit an academic transcript, LSAT scores, letters of recommendation, and a personal statement. In-person interviews on the Harvard Law campus will be conducted.
