GMAC just posted GMAT test-taking and registration stats for 2006 through July 31. A few numbers of note:
- GMAT registration YTD is up 4.26% world wide, 3.51% in the US, and 5.72% outside the US when compared to the same period in 2005
- GMAT test-taking volume is down YTD 3.6% overall, 2.84% domestically and 5.31% outside the US when compared to the same period last year. "However, the volume in weeks 7 to 30 of 2006 are extremely close to the volume for those weeks in 2005."
- "The current year-to-date registration volume worldwide is greater than comparable figures for each of the years studied." The studies started in 2003.
These statistics tell me that a lot of people who register are not taking the test or test-taking volume will increase over the last half of 2006. Any other interpretations?
