Canada Makes Its Mark on MBA Scene
While India and China grab the headlines and the US holds the lead in MBA applicants by a wide margin, Canada is of growing importance on the MBA scene. In 2005 over 6300 Canadians took the GMAT, third after the US (135,626 tests) and India (7206 tests) . When I saw these figures I became curious about Canadian visitation to Accepted.com and found that in August Canadians visited Accepted.com in such large numbers that they were second only to the US.
One sign of Canada's growing prominence is the MBA Tour's expansion into Canada. This year, MBA Tours will host conferences with 34 MBA programs from nine countries in Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver.
So do Canadians belong to one of those hyper-competitive groups? Not really. Unless they see ( and portray) themselves as Canadians first and individuals second. Then they will have to worry about being like all the other Canadians. As long as reveal their distinctive individuality and personality in their application, they don't have to worry about the label.
And the same is true of you.
