Raining Secondary Applications
I hope you 2007 applicants are busy organizing, filling out, and returning your secondary applications. According to the Student Doctor Forums, most schools are sending them out already. Some secondaries only ask for basic contact information and a check. Others want additional essays and sometimes lengthy essays that demand introspection and thought.
When writing secondary essays, keep in mind that you want to:
- Complement, don't repeat, the AMCAS essay. Give the program additional reasons to invite you to interview and admit you.
- Slant these essays towards the program. Schools have different strengths, philosophies, and values. First research the school and then use your life's experiences to show you are a natural for that program.
- Make sure you answer the question.
