Penn Anticipates Increased Competition Next Year

The Daily Pennsylvanian reports that Penn accepted a meagre 17.7% of applicants to its Class of 2010, a record low acceptance rate. 13.8 percent of regular-decision applicants and 28 percent of early-decision applicants were accepted.

More interesting to me is undergrad Dean of Admissions Lee Stetson's crystal ball.

"Stetson said he predicts increased selectivity next year due to use of the Common Application and rising interest in the University, marked by a nearly 15 percent increase in campus visits this semester."
