MCAT April 22

I just want to give my best wishes to those of you taking the MCAT on Saturday. It's a tough exam, but hopefully you've prepared well and will walk out never having to take it again.

When your finished, give yourself a little break and then it's time to start work on your AMCAS personal statement. For tips, please see the Accepted.com's med school personal statement section.

Good luck!

Hi
I hope every body did a great job on MCAT April 22,06. I think verbal was very tough and also bio. what do you think?

Hi
I hope everyone did well too. I am unhappy about Physical Sciences. Was it difficult or did I just mess up in taking the test? I had trouble with a few things. I know I spent too much time on some questions and was rushed at the end. It had become my best section... but yesterday I did not even finish in time. :-(

Well, everyone had different tests. I tried comparing with some of my friends and we found out that none of our questions were even the same! None of the passages were even the same! On mine, though, I thought physical sciences was brutal. The other two sections seemed reasonable. I, too, did not finish the physics section.

My question is, did anyone have the verbal reasoning history article about the Moors in 12th century spain and the spread of some form of religion?!! This to me was by far the most complicated MCAT article I had ever seen, ever! Otherwise, the test I had seemed to be very electronics heavy in the physical sciences. Just for reference one of the passages was about a magnetic rod suspended from a string and its relation to the magnetic field of the earth. The bio sciences seemed pretty easy.

Cindy, more specific information would be, well, informative. Why would you even take the time to write such a comment?

I thought last Saturday's MCAT was horrible. Forget how hard or reasonable the test was; where I went to take the test was a bad choice. The people (the MCAT day instructors) that were supposed to direct students as to what room they should go to and be for the test didn't have a clue! Having to worry whether I was at the right place or not, and the inconveniences in between, was unnecessary stress. We started an hour late and I left the building after 6:30pm (I was there by 7:30am). But what really got to me was having to do the verbal section with a full (about to explode) bladder! The 10min break before that was not enough for +50 girls to go in a 2 stall bathroom! I hope none of it affected my performance...I felt discouraged.

Did anyone have questions concerning the answer choices of a molarity problem in the last free standing question section of the physical sciences? I'm almost positive I did the calculations correctly...in fact a guy in front of me raised his hand after time was called to ask one of the supervisors to send a formal notation to the MCAT people.

I just want to ad we should be supportive or at least not attacking people for what they write. It looks very bad to see someone taking the time to write a post that only, for no substantive reason, attacks what someone else wrote. You may take the Hippocratic Oath. Not a hypocritic oath. Cindy: 4 days down, only 56 to go. :) And Fran: don't be discouraged. Today is the first day that I am starting to get over feeling bad about physical sciences.

To Paul: thank you for expressing the true meaning of all of this. I'm sure everyone who took the MCAT last Saturday had a little trauma situation of their own or if you didn't tell me the secret! Anyways, I wish you the best Paul.

Tiao,

I though the molarity question was wrong too. It seemed like it was off by a factor of 10! - Could just be me though.
