Proposed Changes at Wharton.

The MBA Executive Committee at Wharton has proposed sweeping changes for the academic side of the Wharton MBA experience.

A few highlights:

  • The Committee wants to re-emphasize teaching and improve the classroom experience by rewarding attendance and student cooperation.
  • Push back the start of recruiting until after the start of Q2.
  • Implement a traditional A-F grading system with + and - grades.
  • Allow voluntary grade disclosure.
HBS recently implemented similar changes, particularly regarding  grade non-disclosure, a  particularly contentious issue.
