New MCAT for 2007 tests

I previously posted that AMCAS is changing the MCAT to a computer-adapted format. An article today in the Yale Daily provides more information on the changes in the new test:

  • The test will be 5.5 hours instead of 8 hours.
  • Students will have 20 dates to choose from in scheduling the exam instead of two.
The article reveals that although the test will still cover the same subject matter, each section will contain fewer questions. The goal, the article claims, is to make the test as user-friendly as possible.

I think the aamc has changed the mcat just to be more efficient at taking our money. More students will just try the exam over and over because it's more convenient to do it.
