How Schools Weigh the Writing Section of the SAT

Kaplan has surveyed 374 colleges and asked them about their plans to use the writing section of the new SAT. Schools are quite divided. Roughly half intend to give the new section equal weight to the old sections. And half tend to give it less or no weight until they can see how predictive of success in college it truly is.
