Application Boxes Should Do the Heavy Lifting

For one of Accepted’s first forays into video, I decided to focus on application boxes, the mundane, pedestrian elements of an application that frequently are not given appropriate attention.  Please watch the video to see how you make the ordinary into extraordinary, value-added elements of your application.

Since this is our first attempt at providing admissions advice via video, we are particularly interested in feedback. My first suggestion to me for the future is to smile more. :-)   I am rarely this serious. However, if you have other suggestions, particularly suggestions for topics you would like me to address in short videos, please let me know in comments below.

Hi, It’s an informative video. Though, I believe it should talk a little about what actually are application boxes. I didn’t get what these boxes are as they are neither resumes nor essays.

    Thanks,
    A

Thanks, A. I really appreciate the feedback. My feeling was that my presentation was rough, but the content was good. I’ll work on the presentation. In the meantime, I wanted to start with something.

Thanks also for the comment about "boxes" being unclear. I’ll keep in mind our international audience.

Finally, thanks for the links from your blog to Accepted.

    Best,
    Linda

Thanks Linda. No doubt the content is informative, as I mentioned earlier.

Could you post a blog elaborating about "boxes"? You could also link this post with that.

It would be of great help.

    Regards,
    A

    A,

I’m not sure what you are asking. Am I correct in assuming that the term "boxes" isn’t familiar to you and perhaps is something used in American English, but is not so widely used abroad? If so, the "boxes" are the fields in forms, the blank spaces that you need to fill in to complete the form.

    Did I answer your questions?

Thanks Linda. This is great. I’m glad you’re moving to video. The content is very helpful and easily accessible. It looks like your site is cutting off a part of the video because of the site template. You might want to adjust the Height and Width of the video box manually to fit your template.

    O,

Thanks for the feedback and suggestion. I think we fixed it.
