Unprofessional Conduct in Medical School: A Warning Sign?

The New England Journal of Medicine reports on a study linking unprofessional behavior in medical school to disciplinary action by state medical boards taken against the same individuals after they start practicing medicine.  According to the study, traditional measures of academic success were weaker predictors of professional disciplinary action. The study authors hope that medical schools will study further the risk factors so that they can take action and remediate before students become doctors.
